Genesis Chapter 3

Genesis 3 describes the first human disobedience. A serpent questions God's command, the woman and then the man eat the forbidden fruit, and their eyes are opened to shame and fear. They hide from God and shift blame when confronted.

God pronounces judgments on the serpent, the woman, and the man, introducing pain, toil, and mortality. Yet God also clothes them with animal skins and expels them from Eden, blocking access to the tree of life. The chapter shows how sin breaks relationship with God but does not end his care.
