How We Research These Pages

Gospel Mount's verse pages and word-study (lexicon) pages are prepared by the Gospel Mount editorial team to a consistent standard. This page explains where the material comes from, the standards we hold it to, and how it is checked.

Our sources

Every page is built on public-domain biblical scholarship, cited by name so you can trace and verify it:

• Bible text: the World English Bible (WEB) for English, alongside the original-language Hebrew and Greek.
• Lexicons: Strong's Concordance, Brown-Driver-Briggs (Hebrew), Gesenius (Hebrew), Thayer (Greek), and Dodson (Greek).
• Commentaries: public-domain works such as Matthew Henry, Albert Barnes, and Jamieson-Fausset-Brown.
• Cross-references: the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge and openly licensed reference data.

Where a source requires attribution under its license, we credit it on the page itself.

Editorial standards

• Scripture first. We quote the Bible before discussing interpretation, and we point back to the text.
• Denominational neutrality. Gospel Mount serves all Christians: Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, Evangelical, and Pentecostal. We describe what Christians believe rather than judging which tradition is correct, and on contested questions we present the range of views fairly.
• Plain, modern English. We rewrite dense or archaic lexicon language into clear prose, rather than reprinting it verbatim.
• Pastoral tone. Warm and honest, never cold or sensational.

How each page is checked

• Scripture quotations are verified against our Bible database before publication.
• Word counts, structure, and a banned-phrase list are checked automatically so pages stay focused and readable.
• Claims about a word's meaning are grounded in the named lexicons above, not invented.

The role of AI

These reference pages are researched and compiled with the help of AI tools, working only from the public-domain sources listed above, and then held to the editorial standards on this page under human oversight. We attribute this work to the Gospel Mount editorial team rather than to any individual author. We do not publish AI-generated claims that are not grounded in the cited sources.
